This is why you only should use natural and organic skincare products!
The skin is your largest excretory organ and if you have impairments in other excretory organs (liver, kidneys, lungs and intestines), it can eventually cause a rash on the skin and it also becomes more sensitive.
The skin has to take a large part of the load that your other excretory organs cannot handle. Therefore, it is extremely important not to stress the skin unnecessarily by using synthetic substances such as various PFAS substances. You should avoid these substances completely, as they can cause itching and eczema on the skin. In addition, they can disrupt your endocrine system and disrupt your period, etc.
PFAS substances can be any of these on the content declaration: Polyperfluoroethoxymethoxy difluoroethyl PEG phosphate, Polytefum, Polyperfluoromethylisopropyl ether, C9-15 Fluoroalcohol phosphate, PTFE, Ammonium C6-16 Perfluoroalkylethyl Phosphate, Polytef and Perfluorononyl dimethicone.
Bismuth Oxychloride is also one of the common “fillers” used in, for example, mineral powders. It is inexpensive and synthetically made from bismuth (is a metal), along with oxygen and chlorine, which gives a silky smooth feel. It is very common to react to this substance, as the skin becomes irritated and acne can occur.
When the skin is exposed to synthetic substances that are unfortunately found in many common skin care products, the skin’s important protective barrier is disturbed. These substances reach deeper into the skin layer and risk irritating the skin cells and / or increasing the risk of allergies and eczema. It can take a while before you react and therefore it can sometimes be difficult to know exactly which substance you are reacting to. Therefore, I think it is important to exclude all synthetic substances that can interfere with the microbiome in the skin and switch to natural substances from the plant kingdom.
I usually say that you should be able to eat what you put on the skin. What you put on the skin may also be taken care of to some extent by your excretory organs.
But just because it is natural does not mean that you will not react to it. Essential oils can be hypersensitive to. If you are sensitive, use as little as possible to initially strengthen the skin with avocado oil or coconut oil and then switch to other alternatives when the skin is more strengthened. But it is also important to eat a good diet that consists mostly of green and remove inflammation-forming diet (all white), which can aggravate allergies and eczema m.m.
Use certified organic products that must not contain these substances. Many people invest in good organic and natural skin care, but then they use make-up with synthetic substances in it, which has a negative effect on the skin. I would highly recommend removing all kinds of chemicals in your environment as well, as the system is easily overloaded if you ingest too much of these. It makes the body and there with the skin more sensitive over time.
Some brands that I think are very good and can warmly recommend are Mette Picaut, Esse, Dr Sannas, Rosenserien, Tre60Kosmetik, Bruns and Inika to name a few. Many of the Advanced Skin Therapists I have trained work with these products.
Have a nice week!
Love
